in dealing with travelling/camping/music festivals: what's the best way to wash hair without water? tea tree oil, dread style? or maybe with very little water?

It's been over four weeks since I went almost shampoo-free..."almost" because I've used shampoo perhaps once a week; once when I got a haircut, the other times when my hair got unbearably greasy - I tried to use as little as possible though and rinse it out thoroughly.

Hello, I've been trying th no 'poo method for a few weeks and it's just not cuttin' it. The baking soda seems to dry my hair out and then gets oily overnight. I've also tried just the ACV- same thing. I even tried the curly girl method yesterday and my head is even more of an oil slick. ok, i love this method...my hair feels great. i did my first BS wash on friday and have just water washed since. i didn't do the ACV on the first day b/c i didn't have any and my hair is really short so wasn't too worried about it. Just thought I'd share my experience with trying to find the perfect gel!

I tried Herbal Essence's Totally Twisted gel and it left a horrible sticky, gummy residue in my hair. And I don't mean the next day...I mean within hours of applying it.
